The evening desert safari is the most practical choice from Dubai Marina. Shared pickups from the Marina area are standard on all evening packages. The drive to Lahbab Desert takes approximately 55–65 minutes from Dubai Marina. If your group wants a dedicated vehicle, the VIP safari includes private pickup from any Dubai location.

Yes — consistently. The Lahbab Desert offers dunes that are taller, more visually striking in colour, and more varied in terrain than closer alternatives such as Al Awir. The difference is immediately apparent in person and clearly visible in photographs. Guests who have previously done a safari at Al Awir and return for a Lahbab experience comment on the difference without being prompted.

On the evening safari: hotel pickup and drop-off, dune bashing, camel ride, henna painting, Arabic coffee and dates on arrival, BBQ buffet dinner including soft drinks, and access to the Tanoura and belly dance performances at camp. Extras such as quad biking, sandboarding, shisha, and photography packages are offered optionally at additional cost at the camp.

Yes. Children of all ages are welcome at the camp. For dune bashing, we recommend children be at least 5 years old and in good general health. Infants under 2 should not participate in dune bashing. If travelling with very young children, they can be transferred directly to the camp while other adults take part in dune bashing — please mention this at booking so the arrangement can be confirmed.

Dune bashing with a trained, certified driver in a maintained 4WD vehicle has a strong safety record in Dubai. All passengers wear seatbelts. Our drivers are experienced in reading sand conditions and adjusting their approach accordingly. As with any off-road activity there is inherent risk — guests with active spinal injuries, heart conditions, or who are pregnant are advised not to participate in the dune bashing segment.

Comfortable, modest clothing is recommended. In summer (June–September), light breathable fabrics are essential. In winter (October–February), bring a jacket — desert temperatures can drop to 10–14°C by late evening. Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended over sandals: walking in hot sand with open footwear becomes uncomfortable within minutes of stepping out of the vehicle.

Yes. The BBQ dinner buffet on all evening and overnight safaris includes clearly labelled vegetarian options: hummus, fattoush, grilled vegetables, rice, Arabic bread, and desserts. Vegan guests should note requirements at booking so the camp kitchen can be informed. We cannot guarantee full separation of preparation surfaces, but options are present and clearly identified at the buffet.

Pregnant guests are advised not to participate in dune bashing due to the physical impact of off-road driving on steep sand terrain. However, they are welcome to join the safari and can travel directly to the camp, skipping the dune bashing segment entirely. All camp activities — camel rides, henna, dinner, entertainment — remain fully accessible. Please mention this at booking so a separate camp transfer can be arranged.

The evening safari is approximately 6 hours from first pickup to final drop-off. The morning safari runs approximately 4 hours. The overnight safari runs from approximately 15:00 on day one to around 08:00 the following morning. Departure times shift slightly by season to track the sunset — exact pickup times are confirmed with your booking.

The morning safari offers the best conditions for dune landscape photography: soft golden hour light, undisturbed ripple patterns in the sand, and fewer other groups on the dunes. For cultural and portrait photography — traditional dress, falconry, fire performers — the evening safari provides significantly more subject matter. The overnight safari is the single booking that includes both sunrise and sunset in one trip.

Neither is objectively better — they serve different purposes. The evening format delivers a complete cultural programme: sunset, camp entertainment, BBQ dinner, and the atmosphere of a Bedouin-style camp at night. The morning format prioritises the physical desert experience in more comfortable conditions. First-time visitors to Dubai consistently prefer evening; repeat visitors or those focused on activity often find more value in morning.

Hotel-to-hotel pickups are available from most properties in Downtown Dubai. For hotels where vehicle access is restricted, we provide a nearby confirmed pickup point communicated with your booking details. Travel time from Downtown Dubai to the Lahbab Desert is approximately 45–55 minutes depending on traffic conditions on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.

The Lahbab Desert is approximately 65–75 km from Palm Jumeirah, which is roughly 55–70 minutes by road. All safari packages include direct hotel pickup from Palm Jumeirah. Guests at hotels on the Palm do not need to travel to a central meeting point — vehicle collection is from the hotel directly.

No. Alcohol is not served at desert safari camps in Dubai. The camp operates in line with UAE outdoor hospitality regulations. Soft drinks, water, lemon mint, Arabic tea, and coffee are included in the tour price. Guests who wish to drink alcohol should do so before departure at their hotel.

October through April offers the most comfortable conditions, with mild dune temperatures and cool evenings at camp. December and January are the most popular months — bring a layer in the evening. Summer safaris (June–September) are entirely viable on the evening format: the dune period is hot but the camp phase takes place in considerably cooler night air. We operate year-round. Summer is a different experience but genuinely authentic.

Yes. Quad bike Dubai sessions can be added to any safari package or booked as a standalone activity. Sessions are available in 30-minute increments at designated dune tracks near the camp. A valid driving licence is required for adult riders. The dune buggy Dubai experience can also be combined with the quad session for groups wanting maximum independent dune driving time.

The Tanoura is a traditional Sufi spinning dance with origins in Egypt, performed regularly at desert camps across the UAE as part of the evening entertainment. The performer wears a layered coloured skirt and spins continuously for extended periods, creating a visually striking effect with fabric and light. It is one of the most photographed moments of the evening camp programme and more compelling live than descriptions suggest.

There is no formal weight limit. Guests with active back problems, spinal conditions, recent surgery, heart conditions, or who are pregnant are advised not to participate in dune bashing. The activity involves repetitive lateral and vertical movement over uneven terrain — it is not suitable for guests with significant mobility impairments or active post-operative conditions. All camp activities remain fully accessible regardless.

Unlikely on a standard Lahbab Desert safari. The Arabian oryx lives primarily within the protected Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR), which requires a specialist eco-safari booking with verified DDCR operator access — a different product entirely. On a standard safari, desert wildlife more commonly encountered includes domesticated camels, occasional desert foxes at dusk near the camp, and trained falcons in the falconry demonstration. We don't overstate wildlife encounter prospects.

Yes. Private group bookings are available for any safari type. A private booking means dedicated vehicles and, where applicable, a private section of the camp separate from other guests. We regularly accommodate corporate groups, wedding parties, and large family groups departing from across Dubai — including teams based at Dubai Internet City, DIFC, and Dubai Marina.
