Overnight Desert Safari
Dinner, a night in a Bedouin camp and a sunrise breakfast under the stars.
Tour Overview
Short answer: the Overnight Desert Safari combines dune bashing, dinner and a genuine night's sleep in a Bedouin-style camp under the stars, with breakfast the next morning — from AED 350 per person.
Every other safari on this site sends you back to your hotel by evening; this one doesn't. You still get the full sunset dune-bashing session, the camel ride and the BBQ dinner, but instead of driving home afterwards, you stay — in a proper canvas tent, on a real mattress, under some of the darkest skies within reach of the city.
What follows dinner is the part guests remember most: the camp quiets down, the generators dim, and the desert's lack of light pollution reveals a night sky most visitors have never actually seen. Breakfast the next morning is simple but welcome, and you're back in Dubai by mid-morning with an experience no day-trip safari can match.
Why Choose This Tour
Short answer: it's the only way to properly experience a desert night sky, and it turns a single evening activity into a genuine two-day trip highlight.
Guests consistently tell us the overnight stay changes how they remember Dubai's desert — not as a quick sunset activity ticked off an itinerary, but as an actual night spent somewhere completely different from the city. If stargazing, quiet, and a slower pace matter more to you than convenience, this is the tier built for exactly that.

Vehicle Information
Toyota Land Cruiser or Nissan Patrol 4x4s for the dune-bashing leg, seating up to 6, air-conditioned with seat belts throughout.
Safety Information
Dune bashing follows the same RTA-permitted driver standard as our other safaris. Overnight temperatures can drop noticeably after midnight even in summer — pack accordingly. Guests with back or heart conditions, and pregnant travellers, should skip the bashing leg.
Tour Requirements
No fitness test required. Bring a change of clothes, basic toiletries and any personal medication — this is a real camping night, not a hotel stay.
Best Time to Join
Short answer: October to April, around a new moon, gives the clearest stargazing and the most comfortable overnight temperatures.
Summer nights are warmer but still cool considerably after midnight; winter nights (December–February) can feel genuinely cold, so pack a proper layer. See our best time for a desert safari guide for seasonal detail.
What to Wear
Short answer: daytime layers for the drive and dinner, plus a warm layer for after midnight — desert nights are colder than visitors expect.
Closed shoes help for the walk between tent and camp facilities after dark.
What to Bring
Short answer: an overnight bag with a change of clothes, toiletries, a warm layer, and a phone charger or power bank.
See our desert safari tips guide for the full packing checklist.
Child Policy
Short answer: children of all ages are welcome; very young toddlers may find a full night away from a normal bed less comfortable than our shorter safaris.
Families often describe the overnight stay as the highlight of their whole Dubai trip for kids old enough to enjoy stargazing and camp life.
Cancellation Policy
Short answer: free cancellation or rescheduling up to 48 hours before pickup, given the dedicated overnight camp reservation; inside 48 hours the booking is non-refundable.

Local Insider Tips
- Check the moon calendar before booking. Stargazing is dramatically better around a new moon than a full one.
- Pack a small pillow or neck support if you're a light sleeper. Camp bedding is comfortable but basic.
- Bring a portable charger. Camp power points are limited overnight.

Meet Our Expert Desert Safari Guides
Overnight camps are hosted by the same senior guides who lead our standard safaris, on hand through dinner, stargazing and the morning departure.

Tufail Ahmed
Tufail often stays through the evening on overnight departures, checking tent setups personally before guests turn in for the night.

Anees
Anees handles most family overnight bookings, helping kids settle into camp life and coordinating breakfast timing for early risers.

Qamar
Qamar runs the camp's telescope session most overnight evenings, pointing out constellations and helping guests capture long-exposure night photos.
An overnight stay depends on guides who know the camp as well as the dunes — settling nervous first-time campers, reading weather changes after dark, and keeping the night running smoothly long after the day-trip groups have gone home. That steady, experienced presence is why our overnight departures are led by the same senior team as every other Dubai Safaris tour.

What Travellers Say About the Overnight Desert Safari
"Waking up to the sunrise over the dunes was worth the trip alone. We saw more stars that night than in years of city living — the telescope session with Qamar was a highlight."
"Tent was more comfortable than I expected for actual camping. Breakfast was simple but exactly what we needed after a chilly night."
"Booked the private tent upgrade for our family and it made a real difference having our own space. Kids loved not having a bedtime for once."
